What is SEO? Do I need it? Can I do it myself? What do you do? How much does it cost?
What is SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. This is the science and art of matching what is on your site with what the search engines are looking for. The goal is for your site to rank well on the search engines.
Do I need it? Write down five phrases that may be used by consumers to search for your products. Don't use your business name. Of course you should show up for a search using your name. Go to Google to see is you show up on the first page. If you do not, you probably need SEO.
Can I do it myself? Yes. But most people find it too time consuming and that it takes them away from running their business. Not only must you do it as it should be done today but you must keep up with the changing search engine algorithms.
What do you do? We optimize primarily for Google. Here is a partial list of what is done by Alternate Image on a SEO campaign:
• Determine your keywords. We use tools that seek out what is being searched for on the search engines.
• Optimize your Meta Tags to match what the search engines are looking for.
• Optimize your pages with text and content specific to the Google algorithm.
• Submit your site to the major search engines and directories.
• Conduct an inbound link building campaign to increase your rankings.
• Report ranking of all your keywords to you every two weeks so you can see the increase in rankings.
How much does it cost? SEO is based on a one year contract. This is because it is an ongoing project that is worked and tweaked on a regular basis. The cost of one year runs from $1500 up. Typical cost is $2500 per year.
